At Count Almaviva’s estate near Seville, the servant Figaro is busy preparing for his wedding to Susanna, the Countess’s maid. But the Count, who once fell in love and married Rosina, now has his eye on Susanna and tries to approach her. Realizing this, Figaro and Susanna join forces with the Countess to devise a scheme to outwit the Count. Between the interference of Marcellina, Bartolo, and Basilio and the antics of the page Cherubino, the estate falls into utter chaos at every turn. In the end, in a disguise plot in the garden at midnight, where Susanna and the Countess exchange clothes, the Count’s infidelity is exposed for all to see, and he kneels before his wife and begs for her forgiveness.
