2025-10-18~
Permanent Exhibition Hall 1
This exhibition explores the origins and early development of Korean opera, focusing on the first 15 years from 1948 to 1962 within its 80-year history. Starting with the 1948 performance of La Traviata, it presents 20 major works including Carmen, Chunhyang-jeon, and Prince Hodong, alongside original program booklets and rare archival materials. This period marks a significant chapter in the formation and establishment of Korean opera. The exhibition aims to show how the foundation of Korean opera was laid during these formative years.
